If users thought that the Apple Watch Edition was the most expensive of the bunch, they are so wrong. Apparently, there is an Apple Watch Edition which is made from solid gold, designed by world-renowned fashion guru – Karl Lagerfeld.
Karl Lagerfeld’s employee Sebastien Jondeau originally posted the Instagram photo below, showing off the special Apple Watch Edition with gold link bracelet. At first, it wasn’t sure whether Lagerfeld made his own modifications to the watch, but it appeared on Beyonce’s wrist at Coachella; which has fueled speculation that there is a celebrity-only gold Apple Watch Edition.
The current Apple Watch Edition only sports a leather band with a gold buckle, while this special edition Apple Watch features a gold link bracelet – 9to5mac is assuming it will be 18 karat gold. Reserved specifically for high-profile celebrities, singer Beyonce and Karl Lagerfeld are the first to be spotted wearing the device in all its golden glory.
It is still unclear whether it will be available to the ‘normal’ consumer. The standard Apple Watch Edition starts from the price of $10,000 (about RM36,300) up to $17,000 (about RM61,700). We can only imagine how much more this solid gold version of the Apple Watch Edition will cost.
