At the on-going MWC 2015, Lenovo announced two new Android tablets – the Tab 2 A10 and Tab 2 A8, that packs mid-range specs and a pretty affordable price from US$199 and US$129 respectively – RM725 and RM470.

As its name suggests, the Lenovo Tab 2 A10 is a 10” tablet. It has a 10.1” Full HD IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200. Beneath that, it is powered by either a 1.5GHz quad-core 64-bit MediaTek MT8165 processor (Wi-Fi only) or a 1.5GHz quad-core 64-bit MediaTek MT8732 processor (Wi-Fi + LTE), paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage.

Battery wise, with such a large size, it has a 7200mAh non-removable battery on board that promises up to 10 hours of battery life. Other specs include 8MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, thickness of 8.9mm, weighs 509 grams, Dolby ATMOS 3D Surround Sound audio and runs on Android 4.4 out of the box with Lollipop update scheduled for June.

As for the Tab 2 A8, it is a small device with only an 8” display, but it promises to offer a similar multimedia-centric experience as the A10. Specs wise, it is not as powerful as its larger sibling, but it also means that it has a cheaper price tag.

Other specs include 5MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, 4200mAh built-in battery, Dolby ATMOS 3D Surround Sound, and strangely, comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
