CNYPreview (13) Astro Xi Yue HD, Malaysia’s First Free High Definition Channel on Njoi will be launched on 1st Feb 2015

Astro will be bringing the first HD channel to its free Njoi service within the next few days. Astro Xi Yue HD (Channel 300) will be made available beginning 1 February 2015 over the satellite service on HD enabled set top boxes.

The channel showcases dramas and serials from China, Taiwan, and Singapore; providing programmes in Cantonese, Hokkien, and Mandarin. Astro will also be including local programming on the channel. Viewers can look forward to shows such as popular variety show ‘King of the Show’ and drama series ‘Justice, My Foot’.

Njoi is a subscription-free satellite television service from Astro, and only requires a one-time payment for installation and registration. However, not all customers are issued HD enabled boxes (Astro says about 55-percent of users have one) and those currently on Njoi should check with their provider if they are unable to access HD content.

Interested users should visit the official Njoi site for more information.
