Nokia may be entering the laptop market, but before you get too excited, it’s anyone’s guess as to the authenticity of this information. A picture has been making its rounds on the Internet that seems to show a Nokia smartphone, a tablet, and allegedly, a new Nokia laptop.
But here’s where it gets rather suspicious. Other than that one image, there are no mention of specifications, release date, or even a price. On top of that, the tablet in the middle is claimed to be the Nokia N1, but as far as we can tell, the N1 doesn’t have the rather odd white logo or button in the middle (it does look a lot like a Windows icon though).
The source of our information also claims that this new laptop will be released alongside a new Nokia Android smartphone, the Nokia C1, which has been previously debunked as a concept device. Based on these information, it’s very difficult to take this “new laptop” seriously. However, Nokia did try to get into the laptop market with the Nokia Booklet 3G back in 2009.
As the only evidence of this new laptop is the single picture above that can be rendered rather easily by any capable illustrator, it’s hard to say if this is nothing more than a rumour. In any case, it certainly is an exciting prospect.
