It is without a doubt that Ubisoft has delivered a very, very buggy game with Assassin’s Creed Unity. As a token of apology, Ubisoft is giving out the Dead Kings DLC for free to everyone who owns the game.

Yannis Mallat, CEO of Ubisoft Montreal and Toronto, issued this statement to thank the players for their feedback and loyalty:

To show our appreciation for your continued support, we’re making the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Unity Dead Kings DLC free for everyone. For Season Pass holders, we will also offer the choice of one additional game from a selection of Ubisoft titles for free.

As Season Pass holders are set to receive the Dead Kings DLC for free anyway, Ubisoft makes up for this by giving them an additional game for free. The free choices of games are The Crew, Far Cry 4, Watch Dogs, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, Rayman Legends, and Just Dance 2015.

To avoid players from abusing this promotion, Ubisoft has decided to discontinue the sales of the Season Pass.

Other than the above offer, a third patch for the game is released today. The patch has over 300 fixes for various issues with the game, including random crashes during gameplay and co-op, getting stuck in a haystack, and occasional framerate drops.

No word yet on the release date of the Dead Kings DLC, but rest assured, every owner of the game will receive it.
