With pre-orders for the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus going live at midnight, Maxis will be unveiling its own special delivery service for those who make their pre-orders for the new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Say hello to the Maxis Midnight Express, which will be unveiled later tonight.
Maxis Midnight Express is the local telco’s take on providing lucky customers who pre-order the new iPhone on October 31, and have it delivered to their doorstep on November 6 – anywhere in Malaysia. Sources have indicated that as many as 10% of the total pre-orders made tonight will receive a pleasant surprise come November 6, instead of queueing up and picking them up from a Maxis outlet.
Traditionally, the local availability of the new iPhone is always met with long lines leading to to local authorised outlets and special telco events, which usually means people who line up for dozens of hours just to be the first in line. With Maxis Midnight Express, the local telco is promising a significant amount of pre-order customers will not have to take next Wednesday and Thursday off to get in line.
Our sources also mentioned that the lucky 10% will be chosen at random after tonight’s pre-order exercise, and will be contacted closer to November 6 to confirm delivery address. We’ll update this post with more information when the campaign goes live on Maxis later tonight.

The Maxis Midnight Express microsite is now live. Essentially, it is the same as the leaked information above, but Maxis is making one point very clear: you can have your new iPhone delivered virtually anywhere in Malaysia, whether it is at your home, office, your favourite mamak restaurant….even some plantation (though we’re sure that is for illustration purposes only). And, they will deliver it for free. This video pretty much sums it all up:
