iPhone Drop Test: First Generation iPhone all the way to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus

iPhoneo Drop Test on 10 iPhones

If you’re the type that squirms at phones dropping whereby your heart shatters along with the devices, you might want to take your pillow out for this. TechRax recently put 10 iPhones through a drop test to see how Apple has (or have not) improved their device build over the years since the first ever iPhone. The test consists of every generation of iPhone ever made including the first generation iPhone (iPhone 2G), iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

TechRex drops each phone twice – once on the side and another right on the display itself. Will they survive the drops? We really don’t want to spoil it for you but as warned before, you better take that pillow out so you have a place to hide behind each time each near mint condition iPhone hits the ground.

Will Apple ever use a stronger Sapphire glass display in its future products? We hope so but before that, it doesn’t matter what phone you’re using, just, try your best not to drop them because even if the screen doesn’t shatter, having dented or broken shells isn’t a pretty sight.
