The new 15.6-inch Gigabyte P15F v2 gaming laptop is now available in Malaysia. As a gaming platform aimed at the gamer on a budget, the P15F cuts surprisingly few corners in trying to balance cost and performance. It also provides several upgrade options for those with a little extra money to spend.
Powered by a fourth generation Intel Core i7 processor (and a choice of more powerful processors), the P15F brings an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M card to provide graphics for the Full HD display. Gigabyte has equipped the laptop with 8GB RAM, which according to the press material can be upgraded to 16GB. However, the product page only lists the default configuration without providing any way of buying extra RAM.
There is also a variable amount of storage beginning from a 1TB 7200RPM HDD. Gigabyte provides options ranging from no drive, to an impressive 1TB SSD. There is also the option of adding a secondary storage option, although that is limited to a choice of SSDs; possibly due to space constraints in trying to fit two storage devices and an optical drive into a 15.6-inch form while trying to make it as slim as possible; the P15F v2 weighs 2.4kg and measures 31.4mm thick.
The Gigabyte P15F v2 gaming laptop starts at a price of RM3,399; and is available immediately through the Illegear online store.
