The incredibly popular social messaging app, WhatsApp has just been released with an updated version that offers support for Android Wear devices. The new update allows users to view notification in stacks, preview received messages, and interestingly, to reply messages with voice.
Multiple WhatsApp notifications would be stacked on each other on the face of the watch. Unlike most smartwatches out in the market, WhatsApp on Android Wear allows you to view the entire received messages rather than just alerting you to let you know you have one. Users can access and make a reply by tapping on the preview message itself. Tapping the “+1 more” button under the preview message will bring you to the next unread message.
There are currently more than 500 million WhatsApp users around the globe and there is no doubt that the instant messaging app is immensely popular here in the country. As soon as Android Wear devices land on our shores, there would be no surprises if you were to see most people start talking into their timepieces on their wrists.
Users may not find an update of WhatsApp anywhere at the Play Store yet, however, this doesn’t mean that it is still in beta. The latest updated version of the app can be downloaded here from the official WhatsApp page and can be paired with your Android Wear devices if by any chance you have one now.
