Believe it or not, Putrajaya now has its own airport. Okay, maybe that statement is not so accurate since that “airport” doesn’t service actual passengers like KLIA or KLIA 2. Instead, it is made for one sole reason: the Red Bull Air Race, which will take place this weekend at Putrajaya Lake.

While we not able to get a close look at the hanger (we only able to do that tomorrow), we did snapped a set of photos yesterday to show you a glimpse of the temporary airport for Red Bull Air Race at Putrajaya Lake which is also located next to the event’s media center.

As you might recall, Malaysia will be solely represented by the ex-RMAF pilot Datuk Halim Othman in the event’s Challenger Cup category. As the category is the feeder series for Red Bull Air Race, his race will take place at 3pm tomorrow; so, that is the time to be at Putrajaya Lake if you want to give him your support.

Judging from the results of practice session today in which he managed to clock in at third place, it seems like Halim certainly has what it takes to be part of the top pilots in the Challenger Cup category in the Red Bull Air Race leg at Putrajaya. Let’s hope he’ll be able to better his time on the actual race day tomorrow.
