These days there are a few manufacturers that tout a “kid mode” or a “simple mode” as one of the big features for their latest lower or even mid range device. In fact, Samsung has put a “simple mode” into their flagship Galaxy S5 to make the experience one for more people. For the rest of us who perhaps want to upgrade our parents mobile experience with our old device (always an excuse to get a new phone), there is Wiser, the home screen replacement to simplify any android device.
With only 6 icons in the main screen (Dialer, Contacts, Messaging, Camera, Gallery and Applications), a left swipe brings up a simplified notifications screen and the contacts allows for favourite contacts as well. The best thing about this launcher is that it take up only 15MB of RAM, guaranteeing running on even the lowest end of devices, plus it looks quite snazzy as well!
