Back before the monolith we know as Instagram came out, there was Hipstamatic. Arguably the first to the concept of applying film like filters to pictures, Hipstamatic was overtaken by instagram because of the community aspect as well as the lack of need to purchase filters you liked. Now, Hipstamatic is concentrating on video with its new app, Cinematic.
In a departure from the retro styled goodness that Hipstamatic is famous for, Cinematic takes the iOS 7 design language and transfers it to a minimalist design for video. If you’ve recorded video on Instagram or Vine, this will be familiar to you. Instead of trying to build another social media circle, Cinematic is primarily for making amazing looking video for you to upload to your existing social media outlets.
Cinematc will cost US$1.99 for 5 filters and have additional ones up for sale at 0.99c each. Cinematic filters are much more complex than the Instagram equivalent and will definitely pop on anyones instagram feed.
