Facebook Mood Update

It’s been out for over a month now and it looks like Facebook’s new status update option has finally reached Malaysian users. Last month, Facebook added a new feature to user’s status update, allowing users to share more information like their mood (happy, sad, etc.), what are they listening to, what are they drinking/eating, and it looks like the feature has finally reached our part of the world.

You can still write out how you’re feeling and what you are doing of course, but the new feature allows you to tag it to the end of your status update, along with an emoticon. The updates available includes “feeling”, “watching”, “reading”, “listening to”, “drinking” and “eating”, and you’re free to add your own and pick your own emoticon; it also allows you to tag a certain interest or a Facebook fan page like “eating nasi lemak”, or “listening to Backstreet Boys” for example.

To see if you have the feature yet, simply click on the “What’s on your mind” to update your status. On the bar below, right next to the camera icon, you should see a smiley face icon, just click on that and update away.
