Samsung ATIV Smart PC

While Samsung Malaysia’s official website has yet to reflect this at the time this article is written but it is now official for our market: all Samsung’s Windows PCs now belongs to the Ativ series – a move that was announced late last month at the global level. With that, the focus of Samsung Ativ series has now expand beyond the existing Ativ Smart PC products and Ativ S Windows Phone 8 device.

Here is a summary of how the move affects Samsung’s Windows-based PC lineup:

2013 Samsung Ativ PCs

Unlike United States, Samsung Malaysia didn’t announce any new notebooks but nevertheless, the Ativ Book 5 and Ativ Book 6 are still included in the table above for easy reference. Apart from the new naming scheme, Samsung also announced that they will be introducing several new Ativ features this year and the first of them is called SideSync technology.

Through the technology, users are able to switch from PC to an Android-based Samsung smartphone seamlessly. Connected together through a USB cable, among tasks that users are able to do are responding to a text on the phone using PC keyboard, view contents from the phone on PC screen and edit files on the phone from PC as well as drag and drop files from each other. The app will be pre-installed on all Windows 8 Ativ products from now on.
