PersonEdge Sdn Bhd, a partner of the Lowyat MSC family, has collaborated with Nokia Malaysia to launch “The Influencer”, a new online reality show featuring some of Malaysia’s most prominent online personalities across various areas of interest, from lifestyle, fashion, food and technology.
The series, which will debut on Lowyat.TV starting from December 6, will see the personalities battling it out over six challenges to lay claim on the title of “The Influencer” as well as attractive prizes. Each episode will see the personalities engaged in a challenge featuring a specific theme. It is up to the influencers to rise to the occasion, overcome the challenges and win!

“The Influencer” was the brainchild of PersonEdge co-founder Choo Mei Sze, and together with Lowyat MSC CEO Vijandren Ramadass and with the partnership of Nokia Malaysia, the reality series was born. Contestants will use the new Nokia Lumia 1520, Nokia’s latest 6-inch smartphone, to empower themselves through the six challenges, each of which will feature a different area of interest of the personalities: technology, beauty, food, fitness, fashion and travel.
Ultimately, the series seeks to build and show the credibility and importance of the role online personalities have in Malaysia. The strategic collaboration with Nokia will further boost the digital and social media industry.
So who will be vying for what will surely be a keenly-contested battle to be crowned as The Influencer? The ten personalities are Cheeserland, Vernon Chan, Ben Ashaari, Kelly Chin, Rebecca Saw, Ami Schaheera, Karen Kho, Jacklyn Gan, Ah Bok and dancer/choreographer Chriz Ooi. And yes, they will be the first in the country to be using Nokia’s latest flagship the Lumia 1520.
The pilot for “The Influencer” will air on Friday, December 6 on Lowyat.TV. Subsequent episodes will be aired every Friday after, and will see one contestant being eliminated before the series finale.
