There might be more than one million PlayStation 4 are already on the hands of eager gamers throughout North America which is the first market in world to receive the console. Unfortunately, not all of those spanking new console function perfectly. Reports regarding PS4 glitches have started to pour in from unlucky gamers throughout the region even before the console was released to the public.
One such issue is the HDMI port malfunction which was faced by Kotaku on their review unit. Fortunately, it was only due to a bent metal inside the port and can be fixed easily. However, the other problem which is dubbed “blue light of death” (a clear homage to the infamous Xbox 360’s “red ring of death” issue) is much more devastating as consoles that come with this particular status are usually non-functioning and are as good as a brick.

One example of PS4’s “Blue Light of Death” issue.
Sony are still working to pinpoint the reason behind the said blinking blue light indicator on PS4 although they have since list down several potential causes such as TV compatibility, PS4 power supply, PS4 hard drive, and other PS4 hardware. At the same time, other problems on PS4 that users have reported according to this handy list by IGN also include blinking red indicator (due to overheating), system freeze, wobbling units, and headset problem.
Since the PlayStation 4 will only be released in Malaysia on 20 December, we hope that Sony will be able to get all those kinks out from the units are bound to our market. Else, it is going to be a major headache for the people at PlayStation Asia and Sony Malaysia.
