Local Internet users should expect to experience delays when accessing US- and EU-based servers throughout the week. A TM official has informed Lowyat.NET that an operator in the US is currently conducting urgent undersea cable maintenance, resulting in unwanted performance degradation when accessing servers located in the US and Europe. The maintenance will affect all local ISPs, and Internet users will notice some issues accessing US- and Europe-based pages.
The US operator has informed TM that the repairs are scheduled to be completed by Friday, with performance gradually improving as they near the deadline. In the meantime, TM’s network team have rerouted traffic but the official stated that subscribers should still expect to experience delayed response from US and EU servers from time to time.
