Love the Samsung Galaxy Note II but find the 5.5” display not large enough and it’s way too expensive? No worries, Yu Chengdong, Senior Vice President of Huawei recently confirmed that they are working on a phablet of their own and although he made no revelation as to what the specs may be, Huawei was previously rumored to be working on a smartphone with a display size measuring at a whopping 6.1”, and comes with a resolution of 1080 x 1920.
No further information has been revealed, not even the pricing, but Mr. Yu did mention that the Galaxy Note II by Samsung is “grossly overpriced” and even told potential buyers of Samsung’s latest phablet to wait and see what Huawei has got to offer. He promised that the Huawei device will be cheaper and will outperform the Note II as well. The device is said to be launched in early next year, I hope it’s early January, at least, before CES 2013 and MWC 2013 where Samsung is rumored to be showing off its Galaxy S IV.
Anyone looking forward to a 6.1” giant phone?
