vivo is set to announce the newest generation of its flagship X lineup soon. While the X500 series will be debuting in China later this month, it looks like the brand is also getting ready to bring the phones to our shores. Or at least, one of them anyway. The base X500 has appeared on the SIRIM database, suggesting that a local launch is imminent.
As seen in the listing, the phone carries the model number V2619 and received approval on 7 September 2026. Although the database entry does not offer any details on the device’s specifications, vivo has already confirmed a few tidbits.
For starters, the upcoming smartphone will feature the same primary shooter as last year’s X300 Pro, which is a 50MP 1/1.28-inch Sony LYT-828 sensor. Aside from that, it will come with a 64MP periscope telephoto camera using a Sony LYT-610 sensor. Completing the rear camera setup is a 50MP ultra-wide snapper.
Looking beyond the confirmed features, the X500 has been the subject of some leaks and rumours. Based on these reports, the phone may sport either a 6.37-inch or a slightly bigger 6.59-inch display with a 1.5K resolution. Internally, the device will reportedly pack a 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9000 series SoC. A 7,500mAh battery with support for 90W wired and 40W wireless charging may also be on board. In terms of aesthetics, it could adopt a camera module similar to Apple’s plateau design.
As always, though, these leaks should be taken with a grain of salt as the veracity of the information remains unverified. We’ll have full confirmation once the device officially launches. While it is still uncertain when the phone will land in Malaysia, the China launch is slated for 21 September 2026. The lineup will include the base X500, as well as two Pro models.
Ahead of the unveiling, the company has revealed that the series will introduce a new AI photography assistant, which can recommend camera features, compositions, and poses based on the scene. An album-based AI-driven editing tool that applies colour adjustments will also be on board.
Beyond that, the phones will support 10-bit 4:2:2 encoding and the ACES colour system. The Pro models will also offer 4K 120fps 10-bit Log video recording and potentially 8K native output, plus AI-assisted video features. The company previously confirmed that the X500 Pro and Pro Max will debut with a new main camera that can deliver up to 17EV of dynamic range. The Pro should come with the same telephoto lens as the vanilla version, while the Pro Max is expected to feature a 200MP HP0 sensor.
So far, most of these details concern the imaging setup, with a focus on videography features. More information on the phones will likely follow as the launch approaches.
