Stellantis Malaysia has announced that the Leapmotor C10 and B10 EVs are now locally assembled (CKD) at its facility in Gurun, Kedah. The move marks the start of local production for both electric SUVs, following the company’s earlier announcement that assembly would begin at the plant.
To recap, Stellantis invested EUR5.3 million (~RM26 million) to develop localised production capabilities, including upgrades to the production line and infrastructure at the Gurun facility. The company says the local operations follow a unified global compliance framework shared by Stellantis and Leapmotor.
The locally assembled C10 is powered by a 69.9kWh battery and a permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 218hp and 320Nm. It has a claimed WLTP range of up to 424km, while new Violet and Lightning White exterior colours join the existing Canopy Grey and Glazed Green options.
Meanwhile, the B10 is offered locally in a single Design variant, equipped with a 67.1kWh battery and a claimed WLTP range of up to 434km. It is available in Starry Night Blue, Tundra Grey, Metallic Black and Light White, all paired with a Dark Grey interior.
Both models feature OEKO-TEX Standard 100-certified upholstery, while the C10’s interior uses baby-friendly silicone textile. Leapmotor is also introducing an optional physical Remote Key Fob for both models, which can be purchased by new and existing owners nationwide.
The locally assembled Leapmotor C10 is priced at RM125,000, while the B10 costs RM118,800. Both models are available at authorised Leapmotor dealers nationwide and come with an eight-year or 160,000km battery warranty, whichever comes first.
