MyRepublic has officially announced Hyperpeer, a new service that is designed to improve the network connection between a gamer and supported online game servers. The service is available in Malaysia and Singapore and is compatible regardless of the consumer’s Internet service provider.
Now an important thing to note, the service does not improve one’s internet connection in terms of bandwidth. Instead, Hyperpeer automatically optimises routing by selecting the shortest available route to the game server, which helps deliver lower latency, packet loss, and connection stability. MyRepublic claims that the service reduces ping by up to 30%.
The official press release says that Hyperpeer uses a private network dedicated solely to gaming traffic, keeping it separate from bandwidth-heavy activities such as video streaming, large downloads and file transfers. According to MyRepublic, this is designed to provide a more consistent gaming connection without competing with other types of internet traffic.
MyRepublic says users can connect to Hyperpeer with a single click through its desktop app, making it relatively straightforward to get started. The company also says the service comes with a dedicated 24/7 helpdesk for users who need assistance.
Hyperpeer is available for SGD6.90 (~RM22) per month for its first 100 customers. After that, the service will revert to its standard price of SGD9.90 (~RM31) per month. There is also an annual subscription priced at SGD79.90 (~RM254) per year. New users will also receive a complimentary seven-day free trial from MyRepublic, giving them the opportunity to test the service before committing to a paid plan.
It’s worth mentioning that a 24-month subscription to Hyperpeer is bundled with MyRepublic’s GAMER+ Broadband Plans. However, at the time of writing, the GAMER+ plans appear to be available only in Singapore, while Hyperpeer itself is also available as a standalone service in Malaysia.
