National telecoms company TM has announced that, essentially for the whole of September 2026, it is opening up its full Unifi TV channel lineup for all Malaysians. This is part of not only this year’s National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM) celebrations, but also the company’s own 80th anniversary. Once October rolls around, the company will also be extending access “through a new free offering of 22 channels”, but we’ll get to that in a bit.
For now, TM says that it is opening up access to its full suite of 73 premium channels “including its exclusive HBO and Cinemax channels” free to all Malaysians, including non-Unifi customers. Getting access does mean signing up with an email address, even if there’s no payment or subscription required for now. Once that’s done, all of the channels can be streamed on compatible smart TVs, mobile phones, or Android TV boxes via the Unifi TV 2.0 app.
Once September ends, TM says that “Unifi TV will extend access” through the free offering of 22 channels mentioned above. This includes the 16 free-to-air channels, as well as six otherwise premium channels: DEGUP HD, Dunia Sinema HD, Sensasi HD, Inspirasi HD, Pesona HD, and Al Jazeera. The company says that “viewers will automatically enjoy these 22 complimentary channels after the HKHM promotion concludes, with no cancellation or re-registration needed”.
Notably, this is the first time that TM has opened up all of its Unifi TV channels to absolutely everyone. Subscribers have had the opportunity to enjoy all the channels that it has on offer for limited periods of time before, though these were also reserved for relatively special occasions. One example in recent memory was when the aforementioned 2.0 app was launched. Incidentally, this was almost exactly a year ago, though it was not noted to be in conjunction with the HKHM celebrations.
