Sonos officially launched a handful of new products today, both digitally and physically. These products are the self-named Sonos 27 OS, the Beam Ultra, and the Ace Ultra.
Sonos Ace Ultra

The Ace Ultra comes a little after the two-year mark, when the brand first entered the market with its first-ever headphones, the Sonos Ace. The headphones are definitely an improvement over its predecessor, at least on the surface.
In broad strokes, Sonos says that the Ace Ultra provides up to 35 hours of total listening time with ANC on, which is five hours longer than the Ace; plus, twice the ANC performance, thanks in part to two additional microphones, as well as some new earpads that it says will help with passive noise isolation. Oh, and there’s also a new 8-band EQ, allowing for deeper customisation for your personal audio preferences.

Sonos says that the Ace Ultra will be the first headphones from the brand to be built on its new Headphone Engine 2, allowing it to connect directly to the brand’s self-named Sonos System, and you won’t even need a phone to be in range.
The Sonos Ace Ultra will be available in Malaysia from 29 September onwards and will retail for RM2,299. It will be available in four colourways: Black, White, Agave, and Sand.
Sonos Beam Ultra

The last time we reviewed the Beam, it was the Gen 2 variant all the way back in 2021. This year, the Beam Ultra retains the same compact form but this time, it’ll be capable of true 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos. Internally, the soundbar comprises nine custom drivers plus two dedicated up-firing drivers. Additional features and functions include four levels of AI Speech Enhancement, offering greater control over dialogue clarity and Night Sound for late-night listening.
Like the Ace Ultra, the Sonos Beam Ultra will be available from 29 September onwards. The soundbar will retail at RM4,199.
Sonos 27
27 is the audio brand’s updated operating system and app, and introduces a slew of new features. To condense this, this includes 27voice, which is the brand’s own AI assistant built for music and mood curation; and 27mcp, which allows listeners to connect to an AI assistant or agent of their choice, which include OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
“With this Sonos integration, people can ask ChatGPT to play music anywhere in their home from their phone or computer, without leaving the conversation they’re having,” Atty Eleti, product lead for ChatGPT Voice at OpenAI, said. “It’s a simple way to stay in the moment, and we’re excited to bring it to Sonos listeners around the world.”
Sonos 27 will be downloadable via Google Play and Apple App store when from 8 September onwards.
