The government has restored the monthly BUDI95 subsidised RON95 quota to 300 litres, effective today, 1 September 2026. This reverses the reduction to 200 litres introduced earlier this year.
In case you missed it, the announcement was made by Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim during the 2026 National Day Prime Ministerial Ceremony at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) on 30 August 2026. The higher BUDI95 quota, along with the increased BUDI Diesel allocation, is among six immediate initiatives introduced by the government effective 1 September.
BUDI95 Quota Returns To 300 Litres
Under BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95), eligible Malaysians can purchase subsidised RON95 petrol at RM1.99 per litre, with the monthly allocation now increased from 200 litres to 300 litres. The 300-litre quota essentially restores the original allocation introduced when BUDI95 launched on 30 September 2025. The government said the higher quota will benefit around 16 million BUDI95 users.
The government subsequently reduced the standard monthly quota to 200 litres from 1 April 2026 amid higher global oil prices, while keeping the subsidised RON95 price unchanged at RM1.99 per litre. The reduction had drawn complaints from some motorists who said the lower allocation was insufficient for their daily driving needs.

BUDI Diesel Quota Also Increased
Meanwhile, the standard BUDI Diesel quota will be increased from 200 litres to 300 litres per month, with diesel available at the subsidised price of RM2.10 per litre. For eligible owners of diesel-powered pick-up trucks and jeeps, the allocation can go up to 400 litres per month, including an additional 100 litres for those who qualify through an application.
Existing BUDI Diesel recipients do not need to re-apply for the increased allocation. Those seeking the additional 100 litres can submit a new application through the BUDI MADANI portal, with the government saying the initiative will benefit more than 500,000 diesel vehicle owners.
