The last we saw of the vivo V series was with the V70 and its FE variant from earlier this year. Now a variant for the sequel may be on the way, as what looks like a teaser image for a vivo V80 Lite has appeared online. On one hand, it’s a tad odd that a variant is appearing before the main device. But on the other, there’s a chance that this is a rebranding of an existing device.
Said teaser image comes via the Instagram account of an Indian phone store, New Gothi Mobile. As for the image itself, it shows what looks to be the top right corner of the phone, with rounded edges and possibly a curved screen. This results in a very thin button on the side, which could be either the power button or the volume rocker. Fittingly, it comes with the tagline “Slay Every Edge”, as well as the obligatory “Coming Soon” in lieu of an announcement date.

That being said, GSMArena reports that, according to its model number, it could be a rebranding of a vivo S2, which was launched in India earlier in the month. They both share a model number of V2576, though the V80 Lite has also been listed as V2643 and V2644. Based on this, the report speculates that the devices will also share a spec sheet. This, in turn, means a 6.83-inch 1.5K 120 Hz AMOLED screen, a MediaTek Dimensity 7360 chipset, a 7,050 mAh battery with 44W charging, a 50MP + 2MP rear camera duo, a 32MP front-facing shooter, and IP68 and IP69 ratings.

For what it’s worth, a vivo V80 Lite has also appeared in the SIRIM database, sporting the model number V2626 instead. With these model numbers varying based on the market they get sold in, it’s unclear if this is the same device as the ones above, or if it will be a different device entirely.
