Three months after it initially debuted in China, vivo has officially launched its X Fold6 to the global market today. However, this piece of information shouldn’t really come as a surprise to anyone who’s been keeping up with recent rumours.
According to the global press release, the company is positioning the device as a productivity device first and foremost. Despite this, the handset still has some impressive performance and imaging capabilities, or so vivo claims.

Starting with the display, the X Fold6 comes with a 6.51-inch LTPO AMOLED cover screen with a 1,120 x 2,528 resolution. Unfolding the device reveals another LTPO AMOLED panel, this time measuring at 8.02 inches and featuring a 2,312 x 2,504 resolution. Both displays have a peak brightness of 5,000 nits and a 120Hz refresh rate.
In terms of silicon, the foldable runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super SoC, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Keeping the lights on is a 6,900mAh BlueVolt Battery that supports 80W FlashCharge, 40W Wireless FlashCharge, and wireless reverse charging.

For OS, it features the OriginOS 7 Fold, a custom software interface based on Android 17 and designed specifically for the X Fold6. The system comes with a variety of tools, such as Multi-Task Workbench, which includes Origin Workbench with one main window and four auxiliary windows, as well as Multi-Split Screen, which allows up to four resizable windows to be displayed side by side. There’s also AI Cross-App Drag, which lets users move content between apps.
The OS also introduces a new AI agent called Jovi that can work across smartphones and computers to “search and understand materials, generate content, and complete end-to-end office workflows” with voice commands, or so the press release says. It also supports recurring tasks, while vivo Office Kit enables a desktop-like workspace when the phone is connected to a monitor or TV via Desktop Mode.

Other features include an AI meeting assistant which comes with an AI Recorder, AI Captions, AI File Manager, and AI Reader Mode. As for physical details, it comes with IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance.
As for imaging, it comes with a 200MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP periscope telephoto also with OIS but with a 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide. On the flipside, users can find two 20MP front-facing cameras, one on the cover display and the other on the internal display. It’s worth noting that there is a rear case for the device that allows users to attach the ZEISS Teleconverter G2 kit.

While the company has officially launched the device globally, it has yet to announce the international price, let alone its availability for individual markets, at the time of writing. However, if recent reports are anything to go by, the device will reportedly have a starting price of EUR2,199.99 (~RM10,160) for a 12GB + 512GB combo. The leaks also say that the device will only come in two hues: “Prism Black” and “Nebula Teal”. We will keep a close eye on the situation and update the article if there have been any new developments.
