Bose announced its lineup of QuietComfort audio products back in 2023, so it’s about time for a refresh. The brand already updated the two Ultra models last year, but the standard QuietComfort Headphones have yet to get an upgrade. That said, it looks like a successor is on the way, and it may debut pretty soon.
The Bose QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen) were approved by SIRIM on 15 July 2026, suggesting that they will see a local launch sometime in the near future. Although the company has yet to disclose details on the device, a couple of leaks have shed some light on it.
Recently, OnLeaks teamed up with HotEUDeals to share images depicting the headphones. These are supposedly official press renders and marketing materials, and they leave little to the imagination. Based on the leaks, the product will be available in six colours, namely Black, White Smoke, Rosewood Mauve, DewDrop Mint, Eucalyptus Green, and Hazelnut Taupe. It seems like some may be limited edition variants, however.
Hues aside, there are some design tweaks, such as a thicker headband. Although the headphones are retaining the physical controls, their placements differ slightly. The power/Bluetooth button, for instance, has been moved to the bottom of one of the earcups. Other visible features include microphone grilles, a USB-C port, volume control buttons, and a multifunction button. Like its precursor, the upcoming device comes with a folding design for better portability.
Looking beyond appearances, the leak includes some details on the headphones’ features. Among these are QuietControl ANC and TrueSpatial Tech, with the latter promising a “fuller, wider sound”. Furthermore, earlier rumours point to the introduction of a new Cinema Mode. Worth noting that this is already present on the refreshed Ultra variant. Other supposed features of the unannounced headphones are lossless USB-C playback, and a 24-hour battery life.
For now, it’s unclear when the Bose QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen) will launch. Going off of the brand’s track record, we could expect a September debut, but the device could make its official appearance sooner. A past leak suggested 13 August 2026 as the launch date, which is a week from now. Moreover, the headphones are rumoured to cost EUR349.95 (~RM1,657) in Europe. As always, though, it’s best to take these leaks with an appropriate helping of salt.
