Samsung has showcased the prototype of its long-rumoured tri-fold smartphone during the 2025 K-Tech Showcase in South Korea. The device, believed to be called either the Galaxy G Fold or Galaxy Z TriFold, was displayed behind a protective glass case at the company’s booth at the event.

The images featured in this article were shared by South Korea’s Chosun Daily, which revealed the phone in both its folded and fully unfolded states. The device offers a 6.5-inch form factor when folded, which is roughly the size of Samsung’s current Galaxy Z Fold7 model. In its unfolded form, it expands into a tablet-like 10-inch display.

Unfortunately, none of the images show the rear design of either mode, and Samsung remains tight lipped regarding the device’s specifications. According to earlier rumours, the tri-fold device will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, a triple camera setup, 25W wireless charging, and exclusive One UI features. It is also believed that the brand will produce around 50,000 units for the initial release.

Samsung Electronics President TM Roh confirmed in July that the tri-fold smartphone would launch this year but did not specify a date. Rumours later suggested a debut this month, though that now seems unlikely despite its recent appearance at the K-Tech Showcase.

Other reports are claiming that the company plans to launch the Galaxy G Fold / Z TriFold in select markets, including China, South Korea, the United States and the United Arab Emirates. It is also expected to carry a premium price tag of around a whopping US$2,800 (~RM13,300).
