For the longest time, we knew very little about OnePlus’ upcoming flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 15. Now, after months of waiting, we now know what it looks like, as the consumer electronics brand finally debuted the design of the handset.
Teasers of the new design originated from the company’s official Weibo page. Though the official teasers and images predominantly feature the device’s design, one trailer revealed the phone comes with a power brick, charging cable, SIM ejector tool, and a phone case.
At the time of writing, OnePlus has only showcased its beige “Sand Dune” colourway. Based on the images, the phone features a minimalist design with a single solid colour that is consistent throughout the device’s back and sides. It also has curved corners for a comfortable grip.
The camera island features four distinct modules, consisting of three cameras and a flash. Unfortunately, the company has yet to reveal the individual specifications of these cameras. As for the screen, the only detail OnePlus revealed is that the bezels are no thicker than 1.15mm.
Yet, the most intriguing detail has to be OnePlus’ “nano-ceramic metal”. According to the official post, the company claims that this “metal” is “134% harder than titanium” and “223% harder than stainless steel”. Under the hood, OnePlus officially announced that the 15 will release globally with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
OnePlus has yet to confirm when it will debut its flagship device, but Android Authority has already speculated on a date. As per the tech publication, one of the revealed images shows the date 27 October and strongly believe that the device will be revealed on said date. This information supports earlier reports of an October launch, according to the news portal. Until then, it is best to wait for more information as we approach the alleged release date.
