A US-based YouTuber who goes by the handle PlainRock124 recently got banned by the Nintendo Store in San Francisco for the crime of bringing down the hammer down on the newly launched Switch 2, literally. That’s right, Nintendo effectively dealt a “Reverse Uno” on the banhammer to a customer, outside its doors.

Here’s a bit of context: PlainRock124 runs a series on his YouTube channel called “Bored Smashing”, and as you can surmise, the content of these videos involve a certain level of destruction, with electronics typically being his victims of choice. To date, he’s amassed more than 2.5 million subscribers posting this sort of content, with his most popular video being “25 Ways to Break A Switch Lite.

Not kidding, they said I was the first person that’s banned from the store.

— Plainrock124 (@plainrocktweets) June 5, 2025

If the title wasn’t already clear enough, his latest victim was the Nintendo Switch 2 console, which apparently smashed right in front of the Nintendo store San Francisco. He even tweeted about the ban, with the words “Not kidding, they said I was the first person that’s banned from the store.”

While the trend isn’t new by any stretch of the imagination, we do not actually condone this sort of behaviour. While Nintendo made doubly sure that there was enough stock, the destruction of a Switch 2 console still translate console that could’ve been used by someone else.
