It’s been a year since the Sony Xperia 1 VI made its debut and less than that since we reviewed the phone, which means we can already expect the Xperia 1 VII to launch very soon, given that alleged images of the phone have already begun leaking online.

The supposed product shots of the Xperia 1 VII was first posted on the Japanese site SumahoDigest. These images were allegedly taken by someone within the Taiwanese NCC, which is the body that handles certification for mobile devices.

The phone looks ready to be offered in three colorways: Black, a “Navy Green” or Olive Green option, and Purple. The latter being a colour that was first offered with the Xperia 1 IV.

At the time of writing, there are still no official hardware details for the Xperia 1 VII but if we were to follow Sony’s trend, we can pretty much expect the upcoming flagship to be rocking Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. For its main camera, all three sensors are reportedly Exmor T, all with the same parts and elements as its predecessor – a 52MP main, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 12MP telephoto.

For now, it’s best to take this news with the typical large grain of salt.
