Initially planned for 12 April, the postponement should give customers enough time to prepare for the shift to the newer CIMB Octo app.

CIMB has announced that the discontinuation of its CIMB Clicks mobile app is now pushed to 19 April 2025 – about a week more than initially planned. The bank did not disclose the reason for this postponement, but this should give customers ample time to settle things before making the jump to the newer CIMB Octo app.

For several months now, CIMB has gradually discontinued various services on its Clicks app. These include the ability to transfer funds, pay loans, support DuitNOW QR payments, and so on. With this recent update, the bank says customers will no longer be able to access their accounts as well as approve their web or FPX transactions come 19 April.

CIMB OCTO App

As before, CIMB is encouraging customers to switch over to CIMB Octo ahead of time for uninterrupted access to their banking service. On top of offering all the familiar key features as CIMB Clicks, the newer app also comes with increased security, biometric ID login, Quick Payment and Quick Balance, and more.

The CIMB Octo app is available via the Apple App Store, Google Play, as well as Huawei AppGallery. Note that your device needs to have either iOS 12.5 or later, or Android 9 and up.
