It can be somewhat comparable to Google’s still experimental AI Mode.

Microsoft has launched a new feature in Bing called Copilot Search, which uses AI to generate responses by gathering information from several sources. The homepage includes suggested questions and topics that might be of interest, and at the bottom of the page is a search bar.

When asked a question, two buttons appear on the Microsoft response page: “See all links” and “See reasoning”. The former button opens a sidebar that shows links and sources related to the response, while clicking on “See reasoning” will show how the feature worked out its response.

A follow-up question can also be added from the text box, and its response will be displayed on the same page. Microsoft also displays image and video hyperlinks on the right side of the page, though clicking on them will redirect users to the standard Bing Images and Videos experience.

The classic web links experience will still continue to be offered as an option. When users ask questions on the regular Bing, Microsoft puts a Copilot Answer section at the top of the web links to create a hybrid experience, much like Google’s AI Overviews. Copilot Search, on the other hand, is specifically the company’s answer to the internet search giant’s AI Mode, which is still in its experimental stages, and users have to opt in to try.
