Black Shark has introduced a successor to its last smart ring with the Ring 2, an affordable competitor to Samsung’s Galaxy Ring. Compared to the first-generation smart ring, the company has managed to reduce the weight from 5.4g to 4g, which is significant but still notably heavier than Samsung’s.
The Ring 2 is capable of lasting up to 10 days on a single charge, which is double the usage time of its predecessor. However, combining it with the charging case only gives it a total battery life of 90 days, which is still impressive, but pales in comparison to the original ring’s charging case which offered a total battery life of 180 days.
Of course, the main feature of smart ring is for health monitoring, and Black Shark’s device is equipped with sensors to monitor your heart rate, sleep quality, blood oxygen levels, and it even tracks workouts such as walking, cycling, and running. Additionally, it gets an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, along with gesture control.
The Black Shark Ring 2 is available from size 7 to size 12 and retails at CNY749 (~RM456). However, no plans for global availability have not been announced, while its predecessor has similarly not made its way out of China yet.
