The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 event unveiled many new products and devices, both on the way and ones in still in conceptual phases. One such concept was Infinix’s SolarEnergy-Reserving technology, showcased through a solar-panelled phone and a solar-charging case.

The charging case was paired with a prototype phone that has small contact points on its side that deliver power from the case. It utilises a wireless charging technology called “Sunflower” that combines light-positioning and transmission techniques. The solar-panelled phone does the obvious: it harnesses sunlight and transforms it into electricity used to power the phone.

The technology combines advanced perovskite photovoltaic technology and AI algorithms to harness light energy from both indoor and outdoor sources. It pairs perovskite solar cells with Maximum Power Point Tracking, a system used to regulate voltage. To put it simply, it’s to maximise power while managing heat.

Both the case and phone were demo units, so it’s unclear if Infinix will ever launch them officially. As far as concepts idea goes though, it’s certainly interesting and definitely something to keep an eye on.
