Fancy watches go well with metal bands, but they can be pretty painful to wear depending on if you have lots of hair on and around your wrist. Silicon bands are often the solution, but the way they look rarely matches the aesthetic of the watch itself. But with the Casio G-SHOCK Fine Metallic series and their Tough Silicone Band, this is an issue that can be sidestepped.
As Casio describes, these Touch Silicone Bands “leverages the properties of silicone as a material to provide flexibility and an even more comfortable fit on the wrist”. The brand says that there’s a dual layer construction that protects the silicone surface with urethane resin, while also providing better abrasion resistance.
Which is all well end good, but probably the most important thing about them is that they are made to match the look and colour of the watch that they come with. And on that note, Casio has released the series in four variations that can be evenly split between gold and silver colourways, as well as analogue or digital watchfaces.
For the specifics, there is the Casio GM-5600YM, which is the silver model with the digital face, and the GM-5600YMG being the gold counterpart. These are priced at RM1,175 and RM1,345 respectively. For the ones with hour, minute and second hands, they are the GM-2100YM and the GM-2100YMG, costing RM1,295 and RM1475 respectively.
