Late last month, we saw the introduction of the Fujifilm Instax Wide Evo, the hybrid camera that can snap digital images as well as print them out from both itself and a connected smartphone. At the time, it has already been hanging around in the SIRIM database for a month. So it’s probably no surprise that the camera got its launch for the Malaysian market today.

To reiterate, the Fujifilm Instax Wide Evo is named after its ability to print out double-card-sized wide format films. To make full use of the wider film size, the camera comes with a “Wide Angle Mode” that users can toggle to and from, so that the closer crop format remains an option.

Handling the imaging of the Fujifilm Instax Wide Evo is a 1/3-inch CMOS sensor. Other tools at your disposal include a number of dials which give you up to 10 lens and film effects that you can combine, as well as adjust the intensity of each. All of this you can preview before taking the shot via the 3.5-inch LCD display.

Its internal storage capacity can hold up to 45 images, but there’s also a microSD card slot if you need more. Similarly, the company did not share its battery capacity, but it is noted as being capable of printing 100 images per charge.

The Fujifilm Instax Wide Evo is available in Malaysia starting today for RM1,798. As with its international launch, the camera is accompanied by the Brushed Metallics wide format film, with a pack of 10 costing RM50.
