Fujifilm has launched another hybrid instant camera in the form of the Instax Wide Evo. Similar to the Mini Evo, the hybrid form means that it can both take digital images and print them out in film right from the camera, either from the on-device shots or using pictures from your smartphone.

The Wide Evo gets its name from the fact that it supports double-card-sized wide format film. This comes with the introduction of a new “Brushed Metallics” film that has a metallic texture. Aside from printing photos from your camera roll, you can also use your smartphone as a remote shutter button.

Equipped with a 1/3-inch CMOS sensor, it’s packaged together a wide angle mode as well as ten lens effects and ten film effects that can be combined in 100 different ways. There is even a feature called ” Degree Control”, which lets users finely adjust the effects’ intensity and colour gradation.

Design-wise, it comes with several analogue controls including a film dial, lens dial, degree control dial, and print crank. Moreover, it has a 3.5-inch LCD display along with a battery life that can last up to 100 prints.

Fujifilm Instax Wide Evo SIRIM

The Instax Wide Evo retails at US$349.99 (~RM1,554) with the case and brushed metallic film pack sold separately. There’s no local launch date yet, but it has already been teased for the Malaysian market and is already listed on the SIRIM database, so we can expect it to be released here soon.
