realme has announced a local launch date for its latest entry-level smartphone, the 14x. Unveiled in India last month, it’s the successor to the 12x and comes with a much bigger battery as well as better durability and faster charging.

The 14x is fitted with a 6.67-inch 720p LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 625 nits. Under the hood, it runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset while for protection, it comes with an improved IP69 rating for dust and water resistance alongside an MIL-STD-810H rating  for drop resistance.

On the optics side, it features a 50MP main camera, a depth sensor, and an 8MP front shooter. Powering the budget smartphone is a 6,000mAh battery with support for 45W charging. Additionally, it’s equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and supports 5G, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.3.

The 14x is set to arrive in Malaysia on 24 January 2025. It will ship along with several AI features under the brand’s NEXT AI umbrella.

UPDATE: A representative has informed us that the version coming to Malaysia will have a smaller 5,000mAh battery capacity instead of the 6,000mAh cell found in the Indian model.
