It’s been a hot minute since we heard anything from the Chinese gaming handheld company Ayaneo and its self-styled Ayaneo 3 portable console. This week, the company released a reveal video of the console, giving us a glimpse of the modularity that literally comes with it.
As per the video, the left and right side of the handheld console have these pill-shaped slots. They house the modular controls and they’re obviously a handful of them. At a glance, there’s one with an analogue stick and D-Pad, one with another stick and four buttons; another has just six buttons, while another has just two analogue sticks and no buttons. Making the combinations of control schemes bountiful.
In total, Ayaneo says that we’re looking at a total of 50 different combinations. For that matter, it is unclear if the console brand or if it will be bundling all the control modules together with the Ayaneo 3 or if it intends to sell them separately.
Specs-wise, the Ayaneo 3 is expected to be powered by the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU, which comes with the new and improved RDNA3.5 GPU cores.
The company is expected to divulge more details about the console tomorrow so let’s just wait and see what it says.
