Samsung is predicted to be launching at least two new phones in December, which are the 4G and 5G versions of the upcoming Galaxy A16. Ahead of the unveiling, at least one variant of the A15‘s successor will likely hit the shelves in the Malaysian market.

The Galaxy A16 5G was listed on SIRIM just yesterday with the model number SM-A166P/DS. Based on Geekbench listings, the phone is expected to be offered in two variants using different chips — the processors that will be used are the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 (SM-A166P) and the Exynos 1330 (SM-A166E).

Samsung Galaxy A16 SIRIMBased on the model number, the Malaysian version will likely be running on the Dimensity 6300 chipset. As for its other specs, a recent leak suggests that the A16 will sport a 6.7-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, with a configuration made up of 4GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage, although this could vary by market.

On the imaging side, it will purportedly feature a 50MP main camera, a 5MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP macro lens, and a 13MP selfie snapper. Powering the entry-level device will be a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W charging.
