AirAsia has introduced BigPay Lite, a simplified version of the e-wallet that’s embedded into its AirAsia MOVE app. This new feature allows users in Malaysia to create a BigPay account within seconds, while also mirroring the functionality of the full version.

The launch of BigPay Lite reflects a collaborative effort between AirAsia MOVE and BigPay, aimed at enhancing the travel experience for millions of users. Both companies have expressed their commitment to innovation, with plans to introduce further features such as Travel Stash and Roundup for travel savings, and a “travel now, pay later” option in the near future.

To sign up for BigPay Lite, AirAsia MOVE users can simply tap the BigPay widget in the app, complete the required personal information, and top up their account using DuitNow. Once set up, users can make payments for flights, duty-free items, and more, directly through the BigPay wallet. This integration simplifies the payment process, making it easier for users to manage their transactions without linking external cards.

BigPay Lite offers several benefits to its users. In addition to the quick and easy sign-up process, users gain access to exclusive perks such as discounts on AirAsia and international flights, duty-free items, safe and secure payments, as well as priority access to AirAsia MOVE’s sales events.

Speaking of which, those who sign-up now are eligible to receive RM5 off flights (with minimum spend of RM250 for non-AirAsia trips) and duty-free items (with minimum spend of RM150) using the code BIGPAY, along with early access to its upcoming AirAsia Big Sale event. The company further notes that the former promo is only applicable to flights booked between now and 30 September 2024, with travel periods from now until 30 September 2025.
