Lotus first launched the Eletre line of electric SUVs last year, and now, the company is introducing what it calls its first electric Hyper-GT (Grand Touring) models into the country. They are called the Lotus Emeya, and like the Eletre before it, this GT line comes in base, S and R variants.

The web page for the model points to a century sprint time of 2.78 seconds, and a top speed of 256km/h. The EV is also noted to run a two-speed transmission and a dual-motor configuration capable of pushing out 905 bhp and 985 Nm of torque. These specific figures only apply to the Lotus Emeya R, whereas according to paultan.org, the base and S models sports 603 bhp and 710 Nm of torque instead, with 0-100km/h is done in 4.15 seconds.

In a similar vein, the company says that the Lotus Emeya runs a familiar 800V battery that gives it a maximum WLTP range of between 490km and 600km, with the base and S models doing the latter, while the R model is limited to the former. Also mentioned is that, with a 350kW DC charger, the EV can get an additional 150km in range with a five minute charge, or going from 10% to 80% battery charge with 18 minutes of being plugged in. AC charging, on the other hand, brings its battery from empty to full in 5.8 hours.

The Lotus Emeya line has a starting price of RM575,000, with bookings open for prospective buyers. For those who want to be convinced, the company says an exclusive preview for the cars will be available at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur between 30 July and 4 August, and between 10AM to 10PM. Registrations for the private viewing session can be done via the link below. Also worth noting that the base model Lotus Eletre SUV has gotten a price hike to RM598,800, from the RM578,000 price that it launched with last year.
