Honda Malaysia has announced this year’s iterations of the Honda City Hatchback range, which consists of a total of five variants. Like the sedan models launched last year, the City Hatchback also gets a petrol version of the RS variant, in addition to the e:HEV RS hybrid.
On that note, performance figures for this year’s Honda City Hatchback e:HEV RS looks to be pretty familiar, with official figures for the powertrain being a 1.5L e:HEV of 109PS and 253Nm of torque. One additional option that has become available this time around though is a deceleration selector paddle. The petrol model, on the other hand hasa a 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC which delivers up to 121PS and 145Nm of torque.
Both RS variants of the Honda City Hatchback now get interior trim befitting of the RS badge, with red-stitched Combi Leather and a red dashboard panel. Driving the infotainment side of things is an 8-inch Display Audio with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Wireless support.
For the whole range of the Honda City Hatchback though, the company says it is now making its Honda SENSING tech a standard for all variants, including a new Lead Car Departure Notification. That being said, the RS models unsurprisingly get a few exclusives, specifically the Low Speed Follow feature.
Outside of the Honda SENSING tech, other features coming as standard to the whole Honda City Hatchback range are six airbags, Walk Away Auto Lock. For all but the base S variant, they also come with the Hi-Resolution Multi-Angle Reverse Camera. Then there’s LaneWatch which isn’t available on the S and E models. Finally, there’s the Honda Connect smartphone app integration, which comes as standard for the RS models, but is available as an optional extra for the S,E and V variants.
Finally, the prices for the new Honda City Hatchback are RM85,900, RM90,900, RM95,900, RM100,900 and RM112,900 for the S,E,V, Petrol RS and e:HEV RS models, respectively. You can find out more by visiting its official page, linked here.
