iQOO has officially launched the Z9 series in Malaysia after a brief pre-order period. The lineup is made up of the vanilla model as well as the lower-end Z9x, offering relatively impressive specs within a mid-range price bracket.
Firstly, there’s the Z9, which sports a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz, a peak brightness of 4,500 nits for HDR, and a global peak brightness of 1,200 nits. It runs on a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset with 256GB of storage and up to 12GB of RAM.
Then there’s the Z9x, equipped with a 6.72-inch 1080p LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. Under the hood, it has a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 paired with 256GB of storage and up to 12GB of RAM. For protection, the two phones come with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance.
On the imaging front, both devices feature a 50MP main camera with a depth sensor next to it, while the display houses a 16MP shooter for the Z9 and an 8MP sensor for the Z9x. Moreover, the two phones are powered by 6,000mAh cell with 80W charging for the former and 44W charging for the latter.
The Z9 has a starting price of RM1,399 for the 8GB+256GB variant and RM1,499 for the 12GB+256GB trim. For the Z9x, it retails from RM1,099 for the 8GB+256GB trim and RM1,199 for the 12GB+256GB configuration, but the 8GB variant can be purchased for RM999 on Shopee.
