TCL recently held a space at the Display Tech-ecosystem Conference 2023 (DTC 2023) in China last week. The Chinese brand revealed that it was working with “leading institutes and industry AI development teams” to create what it calls the world’s first AI model in the display industry, also known as X-intelligence, among other things.

“Consumers today place greater emphasis on the overall user experience. At TCL CSOT, we are dedicated to developing display products that are not only green and low-carbon, but also prioritize eye-friendly features,” Jun Zhao, CEO of TCL, said. “Through significant advancements in display technologies including LCD and OLED, we have achieved remarkable breakthroughs, all aimed at delivering a superior user experience. We will continue to provide high-quality products across various scenarios, collaborating closely with our industry partners.”

TLC also unveiled two new OLED displays at DTC 2023. The first is a 65-inch OLED Curved Monitor that has an 8K display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The brand claims that the panel is the first of its kind, boasting 33 million pixels and a 1800R curvature, a utilisation rate of luminescent material of up to 90%, plus a blue light reduction of by 50% of what other OLED display panels offer.

The second OLED display is a 14-inch 2.8K panel that TCL also claims as a first, primarily because of its inkjet printing (IJP) OLED technology. Other specifications of the panel include a 240 ppi count, as well as the adaptive refresh rate between 30Hz and 120Hz.

OLED displays aside, TCL also announced two other displays, made using LCD and MLCD manufacturing technologies. This includes a 150-inch MLCD Zero Seam Display, as well as a 2.1-inch Real RGB LTPO-VR LCD with a pixel density of 1,727 ppi.
