[UPDATE: 1:40pm, 14 October 2023]

CelcomDigi has reached out to us to clarify that existing customers will not get a speed upgrade, but reduced prices as per the revision instead. The changes will be reflected in their next monthly bill, the telco added.

[Original article: 10:51pm, 13 October 2023]

CelcomDigi has officially unveiled the revised pricing for all of its home fibre packages. Effective today, new customers will get to enjoy the company’s fibre offerings at reduced prices, while existing subscribers are granted free speed upgrades according to the newly enhanced plans. And as you may have guessed, this revision basically serves as the telco’s answer to TM’s announcement from the week prior.

As per today’s announcement, CelcomDigi’s 100Mbps fibre plan is now offered at only RM99 per month, while its 300Mbps is now at RM139/month, 500Mbps at RM159/month, 800Mbps at RM249/month and 1Gbps at RM289/month. The telco adds that customers may unlock even better prices when they pair the new fibre packages with an existing Celcom or Digi postpaid plan. For instance, those going for the 100Mbps and 500Mbps plans are granted RM10/month rebate for 24 months, while 1Gbps subscribers are entitled to a rebate of RM20/month throughout the same duration. Unfortunately, for some reason, there are no special deals available for the 800Mbps option.

As a special launch promotion, CelcomDigi is offering an exclusive deal for its 300Mbps line where postpaid customers will also get to enjoy up to six months off their fibre bill on top of the RM10/month rebate. In other words, subscribers are exempted from paying for the first six months after signing up for the plan, and will only be charged RM129 from the seventh month until the 24th month.

It is also worth noting that the telco provides free standard installation as well as a free WiFi 6 router for all five of its fibre plans. Meanwhile, those signing up for its 300Mbps, 500Mbps, 800Mbps and 1Gbps packages are given the option to include the latest gaming, entertainment, smart home and fibre-to-the-room (FTTR) add-ons for an extra RM2 per day.

In regards to existing customers, CelcomDigi assured that the new prices across all plans will apply to them as well, with no contract renewals or extensions. At the same time, the telco is also encouraging all users who are still on Celcom or Digi legacy fibre subscriptions to switch up to the newer plans in order to enjoy more savings and exclusive benefits.
