Tune Talk has introduced a special deal for those who live in Sabah and Sarawak. The telco is offering up its Borneo 25 prepaid pack at a discounted price of RM20 per month, exclusive to existing and new users in East Malaysia.

The Borneo 25 plan is a prepaid pack with a validity period of 30 days. It offers “unlimited” data at a speed of 3Mbps but it has a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) of only 30GB, which is shared between the base quota and the hotspot cap. This effectively means you only have 30GB of data before it is throttled to a crawling speed of 256Kbps.

Additionally, the plan provides unlimited voice calls to all networks as well as unlimited chat usage for WhatsApp and WeChat. The latter is also limited to the telco’s FUP policy and it says it plans to include more apps in the future. If you need to send an SMS, it costs RM0.12 per text message.

The promotion is only running for Borneans until 31 December 2023, after which, it will revert back to its original retail price of RM25 per month. Existing users in East Malaysia can visit any Tune Talk dealer to get a Pek Borneo SIM card. Meanwhile, West Malaysian subscribers are limited to only being able to register for Pek Jimat.

The carrier is also offering free 1GB of data with a validity period of seven days as a welcome gift, which you will need to opt into on the Tune Talk app within 60 days of the SIM card activation. If you run out of data and need more, you have the option of purchasing data boosters at a cost of RM3 and RM10 for 1.5GB and 10GB respectively.
