iQOO is set to debut its first ever tablet, the iQOO Pad, alongside the Neo 8 series smartphones in China on 23 May. While the full spec sheet has yet to be revealed, the brand has confirmed the chipset that it will run on as well as the details for the tablet’s display.

The iQOO Pad will sport a 12.1-inch 2.8k display with a peak brightness of 600 nits, HDR10 support, and a high refresh rate of 144Hz. According to a teaser image of the device, the screen will also feature uniform bezels while the tablet itself will have speakers on both the top and bottom.

It’s rumoured that the upcoming Pad is just a version of the vivo Pad2 with an upgraded SoC and from the looks of it, this might not be far off since the designs are practically the same. While vivo’s tablet runs on a Dimensity 9000 chipset from MediaTek, iQOO’s will use the higher-end Dimensity 9000 Plus.

Nothing else is confirmed yet but going by the vivo tablet, it could come with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It might also pack a 10,000mAh battery with support for 44W wired charging and 5W reverse wired charging, meaning it will be able to act as a power bank for other devices.

For the cameras, it’s expected to house a two-camera setup on the back made up of a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP macro lens while the front will offer an 8MP unit for selfies and video calls. While it has stereo speakers, the iQOO Pad won’t have a 3.5mm headphone jack if it’s similar to the vivo Pad2.

The iQOO Pad will be launching in China but as of now, there is no word yet on whether it will be coming to other markets. It is predicted to ship with Origin OS 3 based on Android 13.
