Alleged new details of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 has emerged, once again. This time, the supposed details of the non-Ti GPU revolves around its base and boost clock speeds.

The rumoured clock speeds of the RTX 4070 were first posted on Twitter by Matthew Smith (@T4CFantasy). While their name isn’t as familiar as other hardware leaksters, one characteristic that lends credibility to Smith is his role: he’s a TechPowerUP (TPU) GPU database maintainer and as such, is privy to specific details of upcoming or yet-to-be-released graphics cards.

first AIB to finish a 4070 is Colorful with their Ultra W OC line, boost of 2505 MHz

According to Smith, the RTX 4070’s base and boost clocks are expected to be set at 1920MHz and 2475MHz, respectively. Additionally, the first NVIDIA AIB partner to have fully completed its own custom-cooled variation of the GPU is the Chinese brand Colorful with its Ultra W OC Line. Further, the boost clock of that card has been overclocked to run at 2505MHz.

Besides the RTX 4070, Smith had also chimed in with his take on the recent rumours of NVIDIA’s rumoured chonkster, the RTX 4090 Ti or “The Beast” as it is also affectionately known. Smith says that just by the leaked images alone, it is safe to say that the existence of the card has been confirmed but as it stands, no one knows when or if NVIDIA actually plans on releasing the card, along with its vertically stacked outputs. For another matter, Smith also confirms that this GPU will have the full-fat 48GB GDDR6X, and not the watered-down 24GB that was initially reported.

Colorful’s take on the RTX 4070 notwithstanding, we’ve also seen the alleged packaging of other custom-cooled SKUs from Galax, although those are more likely mistakes by the graphics designer at this stage. For another matter, we’re still not sure if there will be a Founders Edition of the card, seeing how NVIDIA has completely skipped making one for the TI version of the card.
